Which lock pick works on the most kinds of locks?- lock pick

Question by quenton b: Which lock pick works on the most kinds of locks?
I want to buy a lock picking kit for my brother, but I don’t know which is best. I want one that will open the door to most houses (we lose the key frequently) or a dorm room. One that would pick a car door and one to pick a padlock would be nice too, but not nearly as much as a house pick. Which would work best? Thanks.

Unless you are willing to carry around a couple of fairly heavy locksmith’s jogging tools, picking locks is almost entirely a matter of practice and a slight skill and the kits of tools mostly consist of a flat torque tool for applying tension on the pins and a variety of rakes for pushing or bouncing the pins. There are some kits which are too small for the hands that want to use them. Otherwise they are pretty much the same.
